Snow Crab Seminars Planned

Practical information for snow crab fishermen, plant workers, buyers, off-loaders and truckers on proper handling, storage and shipping methods of snow crab will be offered at several locations throughout eastern Nova Scotia.

The sessions are being put on by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, harvesters’ associations in eastern Nova Scotia, the Maritime Crab Processors Association and the Nova Scotia Fisheries Sector Council.

Everyone in the snow crab industry is encouraged to attend. The three-hour session will provide information on maintaining the high quality necessary to maximize the value and benefits from snow crab.

The locations of the seminars are: Canso, March 21; Mosher River, March 22; Ship Harbour, March 23; Eastern Passage, March 26; Louisbourg, April 2; Sydney, April 3; Neil’s Harbour, April 4; Cheticamp April 5; Antigonish April 6; and Sambro, April 9.
