Unveiling of Big Harbour Mural at Maritime Museum
A special unveiling will take place at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. As part of the museum's month-long holiday celebration, Theodore Tugboat's Big Harbour Holiday, a collage illustrated by Metro-area school children will be introduced.
The Big Harbour Mural is more than two metres high and close to five metres wide. It is made up of more than 12 sections, each of which depicts a different scene along the harbour. The mural was illustrated by students attending schools surrounding the Halifax Harbour.
Halifax Harbour Master Randy Sherman will unveil the mural with the help of some area students.
Also taking place Saturday at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic are the Big Harbour Play Centre, a styro-tug workshop and a storytime and music session--this session is $2 per person and begins at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 10, the museum will feature screenings of Theodore Tugboat episodes, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
