NEW WORK

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Long Island Bailey Bridge

Long Island Bailey Bridge will be closed from Monday, Oct. 23, to Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for deck repairs. A detour via Scotchlake Road and Route 223 is available. The bridge will reopen to local traffic between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Leitches Creek Bailey Bridge

Leitches Creek Bailey Bridge on Route 305, Keltic Drive, will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 25, to Friday, Oct. 27, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for deck repairs. A detour via Highway 125 is available. The bridge will reopen to local traffic between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m.

CONTINUING WORK

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 337

Route 337 from the end of last year's upgrading, north for about 3.4 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for grading, graveling, pulverization and asphalt concrete repaving. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Highway 125

Highway 125 near Sydney River will be reduced to one lane for upgrading. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway, Route 102

Route 102 north from the Main Street overpass structure at the Stewiacke Interchange for about three kilometres is reduced to one lane for repaving. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER: Highway 102-Shortt's Lake Overpass

The southbound lanes of Highway 102 on the Shortt's Lake Overpass are reduced to one lane for concrete road repairs daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. A wide-load detour will be provided for vehicles over 4.3 metres on weekends as required. Work is to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: East Prince Street and Old Salmon River Road

Traffic is reduced to one lane at the intersection of East Prince Street and Old Salmon River Road while paving and improvements are made. Traffic delays are expected. Work is to be completed by Sunday, Oct. 27.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224

Route 224 from Route 336 to the Musquodoboit Valley High School is reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Lucasville Road and Route 213

Lucasville Road and Route 213 are under construction to provide for a left-turning lane and widening of the road. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Work is to be completed on Saturday, Nov. 4.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Highway 102

Highway 102 northbound lanes in Halifax County, from Exit 3 (Hammonds Plains Road) to Exit 4B (Hwy 101 - Bedford), including exit and entrance ramps is reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation work. Work is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31. To avoid delay please use alternate routes.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Porter's Lake

About 70 metres of the intersection at Davidson Road and Myra Road is closed for realignment. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct.31.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Trunk 2

Trunk 2, from Sunnylea Road north to Highway 102 overpass at Enfield has lane closures for asphalt concrete repaving. The work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is to be completed on Friday, Oct. 27. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays.

HANTS COUNTY: Mantua Bridge Closed

Mantua Bridge in Hants County is closed until about June 15, 2001, in order to replace the bridge. A detour route is available via Trunk 14 through Brooklyn to Route 215 via Lawrence Road.

HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie River Structure

Shubenacadie River Structure is reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Doyle's Bridge, Margaree Forks

Doyle's Bridge at Margaree Forks is closed to all traffic, until Tuesday, Oct. 24, for abutment and structure repairs. A detour will be available via the East Margaree Crossroads on the Cabot Trail.

PICTOU COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 104 (Section 1)

The eastbound climbing lane of the Trans-Canada Highway 104 from intersection at Sutherland's River, east about 2.3 kilometres, has one lane closed for cold planing and asphalt concrete paving until Tuesday, Oct. 31. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 289

Route 289 from the railway crossing in Landsdowne north for about 6.75 kilometres is under construction for asphalt concrete repaving. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible. Expected completion date is Tuesday, Oct. 31.

QUEENS COUNTY: Charleston Bridge

The Charleston Bridge over the Medway River in Queens County is closed indefinitely due to an accident and bridge collapse. There is a detour from Bridge South on 472 Mill Village East to Trunk 3, west on Trunk 3 to 474 Medway River Road north to bridge.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Forbes Point Road

Forbes Point Road is reduced to one lane for pulverization, graveling and asphalt concrete repaving. The work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Bridge Rehabilitation - Wreck Cove

The MacLeod Bridge is reduced to one lane, about 3.5 metres wide. Traffic control is via traffic lights for about 500 metres. The bridge is located at Trunk 30 (Cabot Trail). Work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 31.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Argyle Head Road

The Argyle Head Road is reduced to one lane, for about four kilometres for repaving. The work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays.
