Sherbrooke Shares with Food Bank

The Sherbrooke Courthouse Concert Series will close for the season on Saturday, Oct. 14. The annual Sherbrooke Shares benefit concert is to aid the St. Mary's Food Bank.

Concert organizer George Brothers said that this event has grown to become one of the highlights of the season because of the great community spirit shown by the entertainers who give of their time and talents.

"This concert offers an opportunity for many of our talented local performers to give back something tangible to the community," said Mr. Brothers. "It's a way to return the support that audiences have given the performers over the season."

The concert will feature Rollie Burton, Lisa Hallett, Alanna Hayne, Lennie and Charlie Mason, Bob MacDonald, Terri MacDonald, Michelle Mills and Jim Moser, along with host George Brothers.

The music styles will range from traditional to folk to gospel. In addition to the usual admission, patrons are asked to bring non-perishable food items which will be collected for the food bank.

"The 2000 concert season has been our most successful ever. This is due in large part to the caliber of local performers who have shared their talents with visitors and area audiences," said Mr. Brothers. "At each and every concert we had visitors telling us how much they enjoyed the talent we presented. We're pleased to have this one final opportunity to share this talent with the public, and, perhaps more importantly, to share the benefits with the community."

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
