HANTS COUNTY: Mantua Bridge Closed
Mantua Bridge in Hants County will be closed, from Oct. 4 until about June 15, 2001, in order to replace the bridge. The detour route will be Trunk 14 through Brooklyn to Route 215 to Lawrence Road.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Hawkesbury
One lane of Highway 104 will be closed for asphalt and concrete repaving for about 3.4 kilometres at West of Lower River Inhabitants westerly for four kilometres. Traffic will be controlled. Construction is to begin today, Friday, Sept. 29 with an expected completion date of Sunday, Oct. 15. The hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

PICTOU COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 106 (Section two of construction)
The westbound exit ramp from Trans-Canada 104 to Trans-Canada 106 at Exit 22, and the northbound exit ramp from the Trans-Canada 106 to the Trenton Connector at Mt. William (Exit 1A) will be closed due to cold planing and asphalt concrete paving. Construction starts today, Friday, Sept. 29 to Monday, Oct. 2. The hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Detours are available for the Trans-Canada Highway 104, Exit 22 and Trans- Canada Highway 106, Exit 1A. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

PICTOU COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 104
There will be a one lane closure due to construction cold planing and asphalt concrete paving on Trans-Canada Highway 104 eastbound climbing lane from the intersection at Sutherlands River easterly 2.3 kilometres.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Mira Gut Bridge
There will be no through traffic on the Mira Gut Bridge, on the Marconi Trail, starting Monday, Oct. 2, at 8 a.m. until Sunday, Oct. 7, at 12 a.m., while repairs are carried out. In the meantime traffic will be detoured via Hornes Road and Brickyard Road.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 337
Route 337, from the end of last year's upgrading, northerly for about 3.4 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for grading, graveling, pulverization and asphalt concrete repaving. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until it is completed on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Highway 125
Highway 125 near Sydney River will be reduced to one lane for upgrading. Work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER: Highway 102 - Shortt's Lake Overpass
Highway 102, southbound lanes on the Shortt's Lake Overpass, will be reduced to one lane for concrete road repairs. A wide-load detour will be provided for vehicles over 4.3 metres on weekends as required. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: East Prince Street and Old Salmon River Road
Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the intersection of East Prince Street and Old Salmon River Road while paving and improvements are made to the intersection. Traffic will be required to stop for periods during construction and obey traffic control staff on site. Work is expected to be completed by Sunday, Oct. 15.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224
Route 224 from Route 336 to the Musquodoboit Valley High School will be reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until expected completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 211
Route 211, County Harbour Ferry to Trunk 7, will be reduced to one lane for pulverization, graveling and asphalt concrete repaving. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. until expected completion on Sunday, Oct. 15.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Porter's Lake
Construction will take place for the realignment of the intersection of Davidson Road and Myra Road, Porter's Lake, for about 70 metres for grading, graveling and paving. Traffic control will be in effect. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction of this project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Highway 102
Highway 102 northbound lanes in Halifax County, from Exit 3 (Hammonds Plains Road) to Exit 4B (Hwy 101 - Bedford), including exit and entrance ramps will be reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation work. Work is expected to be completed on Sunday, Oct. 31. To avoid delay please use alternate routes.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Trunk 2
Trunk 2, from Sunnylea Road North to Highway 102 overpass at Enfield, will have lane closures for asphalt concrete repaving. The work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until expected completion on Friday Oct. 13. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay Road
West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay Roads in Halifax County will be reduced to one lane for asphalt concrete repaving from Trunk 7 easterly to Little Harbour Road. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The Cabot Trail in the Lake O'Law area will be reduced to single lane for repaving and other repairs. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Sunday, Oct 15.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 289
Construction on Route 289 from the railway crossing in Landsdowne northerly for about 6.75 kilometres will be under construction for asphalt concrete repaving. There is a possibility of one-way traffic with a maximum delay of 15 minutes. The expected completion date is Tuesday, Oct. 31.

QUEENS COUNTY: Charleston Bridge
The Charleston Bridge over the Medway River in Queens County is closed indefinitely due to an accident and bridge collapse. There will be a detour from Bridge South on 472 Mill Village East to Trunk 3, west on Trunk 3 to 474 Medway River Road north to bridge.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Forbes Point Road
Forbes Point Road will be reduced to one lane for pulverization, graveling and asphalt concrete repaving. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until expected completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Bridge Rehabilitation - Wreck Cove
The MacLeod Bridge will be reduced to one lane with a width of about 3.5 metres. Traffic control is via traffic lights for about 500 metres. The bridge is located at Trunk 30 (Cabot Trail). Work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 31.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Argyle Head Road
The Argyle Head Road will be reduced to one lane, for about four kilometres for repaving. The work takes place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is to be completed on Oct. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.
