PREMIER'S OFFICE--Premier Expresses Sorrow on Pierre Trudeau's Passing


Premier John Hamm expressed sorrow and regret on the passing of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau on Thursday, Sept. 28.

"Pierre Trudeau shaped the history of our country in the 20th century as few prime ministers did," said the premier. "On behalf of the people of Nova Scotia, I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to the Trudeau family, in particular his beloved sons Justin and Alexandre (Sacha)."

Premier Hamm said that one of Mr. Trudeau's greatest achievements in office was the patriation of Canada's Constitution in 1982.
