Appointment Announced

Murray Scott, Speaker of the Nova Scotia Legislative Assembly, today announced the appointment of Graham D. Walker to inquire into indemnities, allowances and salaries paid to elected provincial officials.

The House of Assembly Act requires that the review take place every year and that the commissioner report to the Speaker by Dec. 1. Mr. Walker will seek public input through advertisements in provincial newspapers.

Mr. Walker is a former chief legislative counsel for the province.
