ATLANTIC PROVINCES EDUCATION FOUNDATION--Specific Learning Outcomes
The ministers of education for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador announced specific learning outcomes in mathematics for francophone students from entry to Grade 8.
The document was developed jointly by the departments of education in the four Atlantic provinces through the Atlantic Provinces Education Foundation. It provides the foundation for math instruction that Atlantic-region francophone students are required to master from entry to Grade 8.
The ministers recognize that this collaboration led to the development of high quality outcomes, meeting the needs and expectations of the four provinces. Implementation is the responsibility of each province according to its curriculum implementation procedures.
The Atlantic Provinces Education Foundation is an agency of the Council of Maritime Premiers. The foundation's goal is to promote regional co-operation in education.
