NEW WORK

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 337 Route 337 from the end of 1999 upgrading northerly about 3.4 kilometres will be reduced to one lane for grading, gravelling, pulverization and asphalt concrete repaving. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Highway 125 Highway 125 near Sydney River will be reduced to one lane for upgrading. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102 Highway 102 northbound lanes in Hants County, from exit 3 (Hammonds Plains Road) to exit 4B (Hwy 101 - Bedford), including exit and entrance ramps will be reduced to one lane for bridge rehab work. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 20, 2000. To avoid delay please use alternate routes.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224 Route 224, from Route 336 to the Moose River/Mooseland Road, will be reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work will take place form 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224 Route 224, from the Moose River/Mooseland Road to the Musquodoboit Valley High School, will be reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104 Highway 104 Railroad Overpass eastbound, 1.5 kilometres east of the 102/104 interchange, will be reduced to alternating lane closures for repairs. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Mohns Overhead Crossing The Mohns Overhead Crossing, about 7.4 kilometres from Cumberland Co. line on Trunk 4, will have alternating lane closures for bridge repairs. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the expected completion on Thursday, Aug. 31.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 211 Route 211, County Harbour Ferry to Trunk 7, will be reduced to one lane for pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving. The work will take place form 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. until completion on Sunday, Oct. 15.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Brookside Road/Route 333 Crews will be constructing a left turning lane for Brookside Road and widening Route 333. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31. Traffic control persons will be on-site. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Trunk 2 Trunk 2, from Sunnylea Road North to Highway 102 overpass at Enfield, will have lane closures for cold planing and asphalt concrete repaving. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Beaverbank River Bridge The Beaverbank River Bridge is being replaced. Speed limits have been reduced and posted at 50 km/hr through the work site. Work on the bridge replacement will be completed by Thursday, Aug. 31.

HALIFAX COUNTY: West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay Road The West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay Roads in Halifax County will be reduced to one lane for asphalt concrete repaving from Trunk 7 easterly to Little Harbour Road. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Lockhart Bridge The Lockhart Bridge on Route 236 will be closed for repairs. Work is expected to be completed on Saturday, Sept. 2. There is a detour via Walker and Atwood Roads.

HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie River Structure The Shubenacadie River Structure, will be reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102 Highway 102 northbound lanes in Hants County, from exit 8 (Elmsdale) to exit 9 (Milford) will be closed for bridge repairs, guard rail, cold planing, asphalt patching and asphalt concrete repaving. INVERNESS COUNTY: Cabot Trail The Cabot Trail in the Lake O'Law area will be reduced to single lane traffic for repaving and other repairs. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Sunday, Oct. 15.

INVERNESS COUNTY: MacKay Bridge (Whycocomagh) The MacKay Bridge on the Trans Canada Highway 105, 200 metres west of Route 223, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge repairs. Traffic lights in effect until work is completed on Friday, Sept. 15.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105 One lane of traffic is closed on Highway 105 through Melford, Blues Mills, and Whycocomagh as it is under construction. The work which includes cold planing, paving, and repaving will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31. Lengths of the work zones are as follows: 0.5 kilometres in Melford, 3.2 kilometres in Blues Mills, and 4.7 kilometres in Whycocomagh.

KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101 Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane from the Greenwich Interchange (exit 11) to Trunk 12 (exit 13) for repaving and guardrail repairs. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31. Detour via Trunk 1.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104 Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane eastbound from Highway 106 overpass to the end of twinning including ramps at exits 22, 23, 24 and 25. The work, which includes bridge repair, cold planing asphalt concrete paving and shouldering, will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until completion on Thursday, Aug. 31.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 289 Construction on the Balfour (Elmer) Bridge, located just north of the Maritimes Northeast Pipeline crossing on Route 289 in New Lairg, from the Montreal Road to the Lansdowne Road, will be closed to traffic for four days due to construction commencing Monday, Aug. 21. Motorists are to follow the detour signs for Route 289 via the Montreal Road and Lansdowne Road.

QUEENS COUNTY: Charleston Bridge The Charleston Bridge over the Medway River is closed indefinitely due to an accident and bridge collapse. Detour from Bridge South on Route 472 Mill Village East to Trunk 3, west on Trunk 3 to Route 474 Medway River Road north to bridge.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Forbes Point Road The Forbes Point Road will be reduced to one lane for pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until completion on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
