NEW WORK

HALIFAX COUNTY: West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay Road

West Ship Harbour and Clam Bay roads in Halifax County, from Trunk 7 easterly to Little Harbour Road, will be reduced to one lane for asphalt concrete repaving. The work will commence on Monday, Aug. 21, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Lockhart Bridge

The Lockhart Bridge on Route 236 will be closed for repairs. The work will commence on Monday, Aug. 21, and is expected to be completed on Saturday, Sept. 2. A detour is available via Walker and Atwood roads.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224

Route 224, from Route 336 to the Moose River/Mooseland Road in Colchester County, will be reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work commenced on Wednesday, July 26, and takes place between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Route 224

Route 224, from the Moose River/Mooseland Road to the Musquodoboit Valley High School in Colchester County, will be reduced to one lane for ditching, culverts, asphalt patching and repaving. Work commenced on Wednesday, July 26, and takes place between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. it is expected to be completed on Tuesday, October 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104 Railroad Overpass eastbound, 1.5 kilometres east of the highway 102/104 interchange, will be reduced to alternating lane closures for repairs. The work commenced on Tuesday, July 4, and takes place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., daily. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Mohns Overhead Crossing

the Mohns Overhead Crossing, approximately 7.4 kilometres from the Cumberland County line on Trunk 4, will have alternating lane closures due to bridge repairs. Work commenced on Monday, May 8, and takes place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Crews will be constructing a left turning lane for Brookside Road and widening Route 333. Work commenced on Monday, July 31, and takes place between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31. Traffic control persons will be on-site. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

Trunk 2, from Sunnylea Road, north to Highway 102 overpass at Enfield, will have lane closures for cold planing and asphalt concrete repaving. The work commenced on Monday, July 17, and takes place between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Beaverbank River Bridge

The Beaverbank River Bridge in Halifax County is being replaced. Work commenced on Thursday, May 25, to prepare the site for a temporary two lane bridge to be installed as a detour while the existing bridge is removed and replaced. Speed limits have been reduced and posted at 50 km/hr through the work site. Work on the bridge replacement is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Shubenacadie River Structure

The Shubenacadie River Structure in Hants County will be reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work commenced on Monday, July 24, and takes place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102

Highway 102 northbound lanes in Hants County, from Exit 8 at Elmsdale to Exit 9 at Milford, will be closed for bridge repairs, guard rail, cold planing, asphalt patching and asphalt concrete repaving. Work commenced on Monday, June 12, and takes place between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Cabot Trail

The Cabot Trail, in the Lake O'Law area, will be reduced to one lane for repaving and other repairs. Work commenced on Monday, July 17, and takes place between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Saturday, Oct. 15.

INVERNESS COUNTY: MacKay Bridge, Whycocomagh

The MacKay Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway 105, 200 metres west of Route 223, will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs. There are traffic lights in effect. Work commenced on Tuesday, July 4, and is expected to be completed on Friday, Sept. 15.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 105

One lane of traffic is closed due to construction on Highway 105 through Melford, Blues Mills, and Whycocomagh. The work which includes cold planing, paving, and repaving commenced Tuesday, July 4, and is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31. Construction takes place daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Lengths of the work zones are 0.5 kilometres in Melford, 3.2 kilometres in Blues Mills, and 4.7 kilometres in Whycocomagh.

KINGS COUNTY: Highway 101

Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane, from the Greenwich Interchange at Exit 11 to Trunk 12 at Exit 13, for repaving and guardrail repairs. Work commenced on Monday, July 24, and takes place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31. A detour is available via Trunk 1.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane, eastbound from the Highway 106 overpass to the end of twinning, including ramps at Exits 22, 23, 24 and 25. Work consists of bridge repair, cold planing asphalt concrete paving and shouldering. The project commenced on Thursday, June 1, and takes places between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, Aug. 31.

QUEENS COUNTY: Charleston Bridge

The Charleston Bridge over the Medway River, Queens Co., is closed indefinitely due to an accident and bridge collapse. A detour is available from the bridge, south on route 472 in Mill Village East, to Trunk 3 and then west on Trunk 3 to route 474 along the Medway River Road, and north to the bridge.
