Fundy Geological Museum Sponsors Gem & Mineral Show

The Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro is once again sponsoring the Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show. The annual event, now in its 35th year, will take place August 18-20 in the Lions Recreation Centre on Western Avenue, Parrsboro.

The show will feature displays of gems, minerals, and fossils, as well as jewelry and craft workshops, a guided field trip, and much more. Included in the show are displays by the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, Don Reid of the Joggins Fossil Centre, and the Fundy Geological Museum.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.

A walking tour of Joggins will be held on Friday, Aug. 18, hosted by John Calder of the Department of Natural Resources. Those interested should meet at the Joggins Fossil Centre at 9:30 a.m.

Admission to this year's event is $2.50 for adults and $5 for families. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
