Congratulations to Queen Mother
Premier John Hamm today extended best wishes to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, The Mother, on the occasion of her 100th birthday.
"The Queen Mother holds a special place in the hearts of Nova Scotians," said the premier. "Her dedication and courage in the face of adversity, as well as her years of service, are an example to all. On behalf of the people of Nova Scotia, I would like to wish Her Majesty a very happy birthday."
Premier Hamm said two highlights of the Queen Mother's close relationship with Nova Scotia were her visit to the province with King George VI in 1939 and her officially opening the first-ever Nova Scotia International Tattoo in 1979.
