All-Women Lifeguard Competition
The team of Hannah Fraser and Lori Borgal successfully defended their 1999 Nova Scotia All-Women Lifeguard Competition team title held Tuesday, July 18, at Rissers Beach in Lunenburg County.
In an exciting finish, the team of Ms. Fraser and Ms. Borgal, both of Halifax, clinched a tie in the overall team standings by winning the final event of the day, the rescue board rescue. Ms. Fraser and Ms. Borgal narrowly defeated Nancy Witty, of Wolfville, and Heather Goodfellow, of Halifax, the 1998 team champions, in the closest race of the day. In the individual division, Jazmine Hayden of Berwick scored top points among individual participants in three events, and won beach flags.
