Discussion Groups for Cancer Patients

Cancer Care Nova Scotia is looking for newly diagnosed cancer patients to join in discussion groups this month.

The groups are being held to find out whether the information cancer patients receive while they're at the QEII Health Sciences Centre is useful to them, or not.

"Cancer Care Nova Scotia and the QEII are working together to find out if cancer patients get the information they need," said Anne Murray, education co-ordinator with Cancer Care Nova Scotia. "Is the information helpful? Does it address their concerns? What would they like to receive, but didn't? By asking cancer patients directly, we can make the right kind of changes."

The two organizations are looking for people diagnosed with cancer within the past year and receiving treatment at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, or who have recently finished treatment there.
