NEW WORK

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Country Harbour Ferry (Stormont)

The Country Harbour Ferry will be out of service from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday, June 27, in order to have the cable replaced.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 104

The Trans-Canada Highway 104 will be narrowed to one lane of traffic westerly, starting at Trunk 4 at Monastery, for micro- surfacing. Work commenced on Saturday, June 24, and runs from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Saturday, July 22. The work will cover a 10 kilometre span. No detour is available.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Oxford Junction Clifton Bridge

The Oxford Junction Clifton Bridge will be closed for deck repairs. Work commenced on Monday, June 19, and runs from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is expected to be completed on June 24, 2000. A detour is available via Jungle Road.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge

Motorists are advised that the Salmon River Bridge On Trunk 7 will be reduced to one lane for bridge rehabilitation. Work commenced on Monday, June 19, and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, August 15.

HANTS COUNTY: Bog Road Bridge

The Bog Road Bridge on Highway 101, Hants County, will be reduced to one lane for surface preparation and protective coating of steel girders. Work commenced on Monday, June 19, and is expected to be completed on Saturday, August 5.

CONTINUING WORK

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Beech Hill Road

The Beech Hill Road, from the Trans-Canada Highway 104 southerly to the entrance of the landfill site, will be reduced to one lane for subgrading and gravelling. Work commenced on Monday, May 8, and is expected to be completed on Monday, July 31.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Sydney River Bridge

The Sydney River Bridge on Highway 125 will be reduced to alternating lane closures in the eastbound and westbound lanes due to bridge repairs. Work commenced on Monday, June 12, and is expected to be completed on Monday, July 31. Vehicles are restricted to a width of 3.9 metres.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 104

The Trans-Canada Highway 104 westbound, will be reduced to one lane from one kilometre east of Exit 17, westerly to the Debert interchange, for microsealing. The work commenced on Wednesday, June 14, and runs from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Tuesday, August 15.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Mohns Overhead Crossing

The Mohns Overhead Crossing, approximately 7.4 kilometres from the Cumberland County line on Trunk 4, will have alternating lane closures for bridge repairs. Work commenced on Monday, May 8, and runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, August 31.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Viaduct Bridge

The Viaduct Bridge, in Pleasant Valley on Highway 102, Cumberland Co., will be reduced to alternating lane closures to do bridge repairs. The work commenced on Tuesday, April 25, and runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily. It is expected to be completed on Friday, June 30. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays during the construction project.

HALIFAX COUNTY: Beaverbank River Bridge

The Beaverbank River Bridge, Halifax County, is being replaced. Work commenced on Thursday, May 25, to prepare the site for a temporary two-lane bridge to be installed as a detour while the existing bridge is removed and replaced. Speed limits have been reduced and posted at 50 km/hr through the work site. Work on the bridge replacement is expected to be completed on Thursday, August 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102

Highway 102 northbound lanes in Hants County, from Exit 8 at Elmsdale to Exit 9 at Milford, will be closed for bridge repairs, guard rail, cold planing, asphalt patching and asphalt concrete repaving. Work commenced on Monday, June 12, and runs from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It is expected to be completed on Thursday, August 31.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104

Highway 104 will be reduced to one lane, eastbound from the Highway 106 overpass to the end of twinning, including ramps at Exits 22, 23, 24 and 25. Work will consist of bridge repair, cold planing, asphalt concrete paving and shouldering. The project commenced on Thursday, June 1, and runs from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is expected to be completed on Thursday, August 31.
