Fundy Geological Museum Hosts Opening of New Exhibit
Artist Rocklyn D. Warren will be opening his newest exhibit, Coastal Inspirations of Parrsboro and Area, Sunday, July 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the Fundy Geological Museum.
The collection of seascape and landscape oil paintings are mainly of the Parrsboro area from Five Islands to Cape d'Or over a period of five years.
Being born and raised in Parrsboro, the shore area has always been a source of inspiration for Mr. Warren, first for rock collecting as a youth and now for the artistic attraction of the coastal formations.
Mr. Warren lives in Moncton, N.B., and has his own business working on digital editing, computer graphics and animation for various broadcast productions. During the summer months, he takes pictures of the various coastal areas from Five Islands to Cape d'Or, and in the winter selects the photos that will become the subject for his paintings.
The paintings will be on display at the museum, located at 162 Two Island Rd., Parrsboro, from the opening on July 2 until Sept. 30. There is no admission for the opening.
