Government Seeks Public View on NSLC

Nova Scotians are being asked for their views on possible changes to the way beer, wine and spirits are sold in Nova Scotia.

Rodney MacDonald, the Minister responsible for the Liquor Control Act, has launched a new website for people to review documents and register their comments.

"We want to provide an easy way for people to learn more about the issue and provide us with their views and suggestions," he said.

The website is part of a review process of liquor distribution announced in the provincial budget. The firm PricewaterhouseCoopers is helping a government committee examine a variety of options for government's consideration.

Those options range from distributing beer and wine through corner and grocery stores to full privatization of the service. Comments sent to the committee will be incorporated in the analysis. All submissions should be sent by July 7.

The website is located at www.gov.ns.ca/dtc/nslcrev . It contains all news releases, links to the budget documents, reports on government restructuring and information on the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission.

The e-mail address for comments is [email protected] .
