Highway 101 Public Consultation

The Department of Transportation and Public Works is asking for public input on the twinning of Highway 101.

The Department is preparing to begin work on the twinning between Mount Uniacke at Exit 3 and Ellershouse at Exit 4. Public consultation is a vital part of the process. In fact, it is a necessary step before the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will give approval.

The Department wants the public to complete a brief survey on the proposed twinning project. The survey comes with a fact sheet that provides details about the proposed route between Mount Uniacke and Ellershouse. The 21-kilometre project is expect to cost $20 million.

Anyone interested in responding to the survey is asked to call 1- 800-307-7669 or 902-424-3933 in Halifax Regional Municipality. The survey is also available on the Department's website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran . Completed questionnaires can be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to the Department. The deadline for replies is Friday, June 16.
