100-Series Highway Repaving Tenders
A call for tenders will be issued on Wednesday, May 3, to repave 23 kilometres of 100-series highway in Pictou and Kings counties.
The first contract will see 11.1 kilometres of the eastbound lanes of Highway 104 resurfaced from the Highway 106 exit, to east of Exit 25. This project includes work on all interchange ramps.
The second contract calls for repaving 11.6 kilometres of Highway 101, from Greenwich at Exit 11, westerly to Trunk 12 at Exit 13.
"Our government believes that investments in our highways are building blocks that can strengthen Nova Scotia's economy and improve safety for the travelling public," said Ron Russell, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "We will continue to call as many projects as possible to help us meet our goals."
These are the first major repaving contracts of this construction season. The province's capital road construction budget is about $57 million this fiscal year.
