Student Pottery Works on Display
The Centre for Craft and Design is displaying recent works by pottery students from Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville and Tantallon. The students are: Marilyn Hollett, Kate Bassett, Elizabeth Bell, Maegen Gilfrow, Scott Swinimer, David Bennett, Michael Santilli, Meredith Flannery, Debbie Currie and Eva Moore.
The pottery instructors are Janet Doble and Sarah MacMillan. Ms. Doble is a ceramics graduate from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) with an extensive background in her field, specializing in production tableware. She has been involved in 13 exhibitions since 1984 and has won several awards and grants for her work. Potter and teacher, Sarah MacMillan, is a ceramics graduate of NSCAD and has a BFA from the University of Michigan and a B.Ed from the University of Western Ontario.
The Nova Scotia Centre for Crafts and Design, located at 1683 Barrington St., Halifax, prides itself on providing excellent quality instruction for courses in pottery, wood working, metal/jewelry, weaving and various other crafts.
