More Weight Restrictions Lifted

Spring weight restrictions are being lifted on Monday in three more Nova Scotia counties.

Effective April 10, roads that had been subject to restrictions in the counties of Annapolis, Kings and Lunenburg will be open to all regular traffic.

Spring weight restrictions are designed to protect roads weakened by a combination of frost leaving the ground and wet spring weather. Restrictions were lifted this week in Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby and Queens counties. The department will continue to issue notices as more roads open in the near future.

A list of roads closed can be found on the Transportation and Public Works website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran .
