New Show at Centre for Craft and Design
The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design in Halifax is featuring crafts from new exhibitors in a display entitled A.C.T.S. 1, Seen 1, from March 22 to May 17.
The display showcases many beautiful, high-quality crafts produced in Nova Scotia. These crafts were also made available to retailers through the Atlantic Crafts Trade Show held in Halifax in February.
A.C.T.S. 1, Seen 1 provides samples of the variety and quality of crafts available in this province. The products available for viewing range from preserves, colourful porcelain tableware, and unique jewellery, to gardening information, history of the Bluenose in story and song, and steel crafts, plus much more.
Several Nova Scotia artists are featured in the display, including Admiralty Canvas, Natural Reflections of Art, O'Leary's Pantry and Marshland Professional Services of Dartmouth; Calendula Publishing and Stone-Lite Creations of Lunenburg; Jason's Wood Creation, Lower Sackville; Mudaphors Studio, Upper Kennetcook; Sea People, Mill Village; The Bat House, River John; Turbine Clothing Company, Falmouth; Wareshana, Halifax; Whispers and Echoes Steel Crafts, Aylesford; Wishful Things, Waverley; and Woodland Cottage, Cornwallis Park.
This display is part of the centre's ongoing Production Crafts Display Program. This program allows the public to look at the work of Nova Scotia producers without the pressure to buy. Information is made available for those interested in purchasing the products.
