Better Atlantic Lottery Deal for Nova Scotia

PREMIER'S OFFICE- Better Atlantic Lottery Deal for Nova Scotia

Premier John Hamm today announced that Nova Scotia has reached an agreement in principle to remain a partner in the Atlantic Lottery Corp. The new agreement will provide Nova Scotia with an additional $4.9 million per year in Atlantic Lotto profits, as well as other policy and financial considerations.

Speaking at the Council of Maritime Premiers meeting today in Charlottetown, Premier Hamm said he is pleased the provinces were able to resolve their differences.

"Thanks to the goodwill and cooperation shown by my fellow premiers, this is a deal that will give Nova Scotians their fair share," said Premier Hamm. "And we, as Atlantic provinces, all come out ahead by avoiding the high costs of an Atlantic Lotto without Nova Scotia as a full and equal partner."

Details of the agreement will be finalized over the next several weeks.
