Health Council Seeking Public Response

The Provincial Health Council will hold public meetings throughout Nova Scotia to hear views about health services that should be offered at the community, regional and provincial levels.

The meetings will take place in January and February and are scheduled as follows:

Jan. 10 - Cafeteria, Liverpool Regional High School, Liverpool Jan. 12 - Fire Hall, King St., Shelburne Jan. 13 - Bluenose Room, Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth Jan. 17 - Nova Scotia Community College, Bridgewater Jan. 18 - Bridgetown High School, Bridgetown Jan. 20 - Weymouth Legion, Weymouth Jan. 26 - Conference Room, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor Jan. 27 - Kingstec Community College, Kentville Jan. 27 - Fire Hall, Route 14, Upper Nine Mile River Jan. 31 - St. Peter's School, 5 Creighton Ave., Dartmouth Feb. 1 - Dartmouth North Community Centre, Dartmouth

All meetings will take place from 7 p.m. to about 9 p.m.

The council will hold additional meetings in February in areas of Cape Breton, the Northern, Eastern and Central regions not covered in January.

Workbooks will be distributed at the meetings as a means to obtain public opinion. The workbook can also be obtained by calling the council's toll-free number at 1-877-833-7463 or by visiting its website at http://www.healthcouncil.ns.ca . The public can also contact their local community health board for a copy of the workbook or for more information.
