New Director for Western District

Roger Larkin has been appointed district director of the Department of Transportation and Public Works's western region.

Mr. Larkin began his career with the provincial government in 1975 as resident engineer. He worked in a variety of positions in both highway maintenance and construction and was most recently area manager in New Minas.

The district director is responsible for all road maintenance and operational issues in the counties of Lunenburg, Queens, Shelburne, Yarmouth, Kings, Digby and Annapolis. District headquarters are based in Bridgewater.

Mr. Larkin's appointment takes effect immediately. He succeeds Victor Coldwell, who retired Oct. 31.
