Province Picks Consultant to Review P3
Finance Minister Neil LeBlanc announced today that the management and accounting consultant firm of KPMG has been chosen to lead an independent review of the province's Public Private Partnering process.
The consultant is expected to report to government in January on the best methods to use for creating public infrastructure, such as schools.
KPMG received the highest score of the 10 bids that were evaluated.
Mr. LeBlanc said the review process is on schedule for a government decision early in the new year.
"We promised Nova Scotians that we would conduct an independent evaluation of the P3 process before we awarded any more contracts," he said. "KPMG will give us the information we need to ensure we are getting the best value for taxpayers when we need public infrastructure such as schools."
