Traffic Advisory
The Department of Transportation and Public Works is urging motorists to drive with caution today during the province's first major storm of the season.
Road crews have been working through the night and day to clear roads. Highways in Antigonish and Guysborough counties are centre-line bare with slippery areas. All other major routes on the mainland are snow-covered with reduced visibility in many areas due to blowing snow.
In Cape Breton, all major routes are mostly clear with some slippery patches. Many roads across the province are treacherous. The forecast is calling for rain, which may worsen road conditions.
For the latest road conditions across the province, call the Transportation and Public Works Road Report Line at 1-800-307-7669 and in metro Halifax at 902-424-3933.
