Government Caucus Appointments

Premier John Hamm today announced three government caucus appointments.

Jim DeWolfe, member for Pictou East, will serve as caucus whip. Mr. DeWolfe was first elected to the legislature in 1998. Prior to that, he worked for many years as a cartographer and in geo-education with the Department of Natural Resources. Mr. DeWolfe is a married father of three.

Brooke Taylor, member for Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley, will serve as deputy speaker. First elected to the legislature in a November 1993 byelection and re-elected in the 1998 and 1999 general elections, Mr. Taylor is a former owner of a small trucking company and a former municipal councillor. He is a married father of two and grandfather of one.

Bill Dooks, member for Eastern Shore, will serve as deputy house leader. First elected to the legislature this past July, Mr. Dooks is a former councillor with the Halifax Regional Municipality and has owned and operated his own construction and development company for the past 15 years. Mr. Dooks is a married father of four.

"These members bring exceptional talent and ability to their respective appointments," said Premier Hamm. "I am delighted at the calibre of individuals from the government caucus who are assuming key positions."
