Crown Attorney Appointed in Truro
The Truro office of the Public Prosecution Service has a new Crown attorney. Robert Hagell assumed his duties Aug. 16.
Mr. Hagell, a graduate of Dalhousie Law School, is a senior Crown attorney and has 20 years of prosecuting experience. Before moving to Truro, he worked in the service's appeals branch for seven years. He has represented the Crown in all levels of court, including provincial court, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
"Bob is one of the most experienced prosecutors in Nova Scotia," said Marc Chisholm, associate deputy director of public prosecutions. "The people of Colchester County will be well served by his extensive background in prosecuting criminal cases."
In addition to Truro, Mr. Hagell will cover the Shubenacadie office of the Public Prosecution Service.
