N.S. Lifeguards Take Top Spots

Nova Scotia lifeguards put in winning performances during the 12th annual New Brunswick Waterfront Championships on Aug. 11 at Parlee Beach in Shediac.

Nova Scotians took four of the top six places in the rescue board relay and the ironguard relay and three of the top six places in the beach flags elimination event.

Overall, Nova Scotia teams won all three physical events. The team of Mike Dull and Hannah Fraser placed first in the rescue board relay, Chris Swift and Matt Richardson placed first in the ironguard relay and the team of Billy Clyburn and Gary Basso placed first in beach flags.

Rescue board relay 1st: Mike Dull and Hannah Fraser of Halifax 2nd Chris Swift and Matt Richardson of Halifax 4th Gary Basso and Billy Clyburn of Dominion 6th Jeff Farwell and Nicola Goudy of Halifax
