New Cabinet to be Sworn In Aug. 16

Premier Russell MacLellan and premier-designate John Hamm today announced that a swearing-in ceremony for a new cabinet will take place Monday, Aug. 16.

The two men met this morning in the premier's ceremonial office at Province House to discuss the transfer of power. At Premier MacLellan's invitation, Dr. Hamm will attend next week's premiers' conference in Quebec City.

Dr. Hamm will also meet with Robert Chisholm, leader of the official Opposition, to discuss such matters as when the House will reconvene and election of the Speaker.
