Gardening Website Recognized Nationally
The home garden section of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing's website has been recognized as a super cyber resource for gardeners.
Chatelaine Magazine notified the department this week that home garden section has been selected as an editor's choice for being the kind of comprehensive and informative site Canadian home gardeners should know about.
"I am very pleased that the department's website is being recognized -- particularly the home gardening section, which is one of the more popular pages people visit when on our site," said Ed Lorraine, Minister of Agriculture and Marketing.
Myrna Blenkhorn, a home garden specialist with the department's Production Technology Branch, said the branch has worked hard to ensure the home gardening information is up to date and meets clients' needs.
"It's about education and sharing information," said Ms. Blenkhorn. "Gardening is consistently listed in the top five things people do as a recreational activity. With department specialists involved in developing the information online, gardeners are guaranteed of getting timely, accurate gardening information whenever they need it."
