Crown Attorney Appointed in Halifax

Public Prosecution Service

A new Crown attorney has been appointed to the Halifax regional office of the Public Prosecution Service. Paul Carver assumed his new position earlier this month.

Mr. Carver had been employed as a casual Crown attorney since January 1997 and has experience as a criminal defence lawyer.

"In the relatively short time Paul has been with us, he has shown himself to be a very capable prosecutor and we are fortunate to have him join our permanent staff," said Martin Herschorn, deputy director of the Public Prosecution Service.

A native of Halifax and a 1992 graduate of Dalhousie Law School, Mr. Carver is one of a team of Crown attorneys prosecuting criminal trials in provincial court and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. He and his Halifax region colleagues also provide legal advice upon request in cases being investigated by the Halifax regional police and the RCMP.
