Road, Bridge Tenders Awarded
Several road and bridge improvement contracts have been awarded by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

A tender to resurface three bridges in the counties of Halifax and Hants has been awarded to J.G. Hartling Ltd. The work will be carried out at the Enfield interchange at Highway 102 and Trunk 2; Shubenacadie River bridge on Trunk 2; and the Milford interchange at Trunk 14 and Highway 102. The tender value is $327,990.
A surface preparation and protective coating tender has been awarded to Smith & McCarthy Painting Contractors Ltd. for the Crawford Bridge at Route 357 and the Musquodoboit River. The tender value is $60,400.
Wilcraft Concrete Services Ltd., will carry out bridge work on the Trunk 14 underpass and Newport Station underpass on Highway 101. The tender was awarded for $21,800.
A micro-surfacing tender for two stretches of provincial highway in Halifax County -- totalling 14.3 kilometres -- has been awarded to Industrial Cold Milling Ltd. The tender value is $456,550.
This work covers a 9.2 kilometre section of Highway 102 southbound from Exit 7 at Enfield to Exit 6A. Motorists can expect delays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on this section of road. As well, a five kilometre section on Highway 107, from Exit 20 at Porters Lake interchange to Exit 21 at Chezzetcook interchange, will also be resurfaced.
