Tenders Called for Northern District

Tenders are being called Saturday, June 20, for micro-surfacing on fours sections of highway in the northern district, totalling about 31.2 kilometres.

The four sections are:

Section 1: Trans Canada Highway 104 westbound lanes, Colchester County, from about 4.4 kilometres east of Stevens Cross Road westerly to about 1.3 kilometres west of Stevens Cross Road structure (end of 1997 micro-surfacing), including westbound ramps at Kemptown interchange, totalling roughly 7.3 kilometres.

Section 2: Trans Canada Highway 104 eastbound lanes, Colchester County, from Stevens Cross Road interchange to Colchester-Pictou county line, totalling about 9.3 kilometres.

Section 3: Trans Canada Highway 104 eastbound lanes, Pictou County, from Colchester-Pictou county line to end of existing twinned highway at Salt Springs, totalling roughly 9.4 kilometres.

Section 4: Trans Canada Highway 104 westbound lanes, Cumberland County, from end of concrete pavement westerly toward Oxford, totalling about 5.2 kilometres.

The tenders for the four sections will close July 6, and the work is expected to be carried out by August 31.
