Funky Museum Roadshow to Cross the Finish Line
The Funky Museum Roadshow finishes Saturday, June 12, and the fine finale follows with fun festivities at the Museum of Industry in Stellarton from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Ending a nine-day madcap tour of Nova Scotia's museums, Garry Sowerby, his faithful car Red Cloud, and the Funky Museum Roadshow crew will arrive just in time for the fun.
Mr. Sowerby will judge Nova Scotia's 25 funkiest things from among the items he's seen on his journey. And he'll officially open the new exhibition Automobile Adventures by parking Red Cloud, a Volvo, among his other world-travelled vehicles in the display. The exhibition continues through the summer.
Mr. Sowerby will also judge entries in the Build a Red Cloud contest. Competitors have used recycled material to make scale models of the vehicle. Prize-winning creations will be displayed at the museum.
The finale will include music with Fire Exit, comedy by Random Act, juggling, face painting, clowns and balloons. There's also a wood-carving demonstration by Alex Macleod using a funky chainsaw. Children can ride the mini-steam engine with John Moffatt, or enjoy a pony ride for $1 at the Pony Corral.
Admission to the Museum of Industry is free during Museum Day Weekend, June 12-13.
