Spring Weight Restrictions Revised

Favourable weather in the central region of Nova Scotia has prompted the minister of transportation and public works to revise the spring weight restriction period for Halifax and Hants counties.

Spring weight restrictions for roads in those two counties will be removed effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, April 19, instead of April 22.

The restriction period for the counties of Colchester, Cumberland, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton remains unchanged. The current restriction period for these counties ends at 12:01 a.m., April 26.

Roads in the counties of Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby, Queens, Annapolis, Kings and Lunenburg have been open since April 5.

The minister has the right to revise the zones, weight restrictions and the list of roads exempted, as conditions warrant.
