Englishtown Ferry Back in Service

The Englishtown ferry returned to full service on Sunday, March 28.

Ice conditions in St. Ann's Bay during the late winter months interrupted crossings, and the Department of Transportation and Public Works used the opportunity to complete necessary work.

The ferry's annual mechanical refit is complete and the heavy ice offshore is not creating concern at this time. The refit also involved sandblasting, inspection of the hull and application of a new protective coating.

The Englishtown ferry can carry up to 12 passenger vehicles at a time. It travels between Englishtown and Jersey Cove, Victoria Co., 24 hours a day, every day.
