Licence for Yarmouth-Halifax Bus Route OK'd

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has approved DRL Coachlines Ltd.'s applications for licences to provide bus service between Yarmouth and Halifax, and charter service throughout the province and to destinations outside.

The decision, released today, grants DRL Coachlines a motor carrier licence to provide scheduled passenger service and parcel express via Halifax-Bridgewater-Yarmouth over highways 3 and 103, and an extra-provincial operating licence to provide charter service throughout Nova Scotia and from Nova Scotia to points in Canada and the United States, effective Feb. 1, 1999.

DRL Coachlines has been operating these services under temporary authorities since Nov. 1, 1998. MacKenzie Bus Line Ltd. formerly held licences to operate the services.
