Showcasing Businesses for Japanese Visitors
Members of Japan's External Trade Organization (JETRO) are in Nova Scotia today touring two companies with expertise in specific environmental technology.
Refrigerant Services and Environmental Disposal Concepts, both of Dartmouth, have been selected for a closer look by JETRO from a field of applicants from across Canada. The Environmental Industries and Technologies Division of the Department of the Environment facilitated the process.
"We want to assist Nova Scotian environmental industries in connecting with potential markets around the world," said Environment Minister Don Downe. "JETRO is also dedicated to promoting mutually beneficial trade and business opportunities, and visits companies they feel have the best potential for success in the Japanese market place."
JETRO is a non-profit Japanese government-related organization which assists companies in breaking into the most intensely competitive market in the world. Each year it scours the globe looking for businesses it can assist through its programs.
"We have the second-largest economy in the world," said Shiro Mori, director general for JETRO. "Our job is to establish relationships with clients that will be long lasting, and to offer the kind of support they will need in successfully entering our country to do business."
