DRL Coachlines Applies for Bus Licences

Utility and Review Board

DRL Coachlines Ltd. has applied to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board for motor carrier and extra-provincial operating licences to provide bus service between Yarmouth and Halifax, and charter service to points in Canada and the United States.

One licence provides for daily return scheduled service for the transportation of passengers and parcel express via highways 3 and 103 as follows:

  • leave Yarmouth 6:25 a.m., arrive Halifax 11:55 a.m. -- Monday to Saturday
  • leave Yarmouth 11:30 a.m., arrive Halifax 4:50 p.m. -- Sunday and holidays
  • leave Halifax 6:25 p.m., arrive Yarmouth 11:55 p.m. -- daily, including Sunday and holidays

Rates remain the same as those of the previous operator, MacKenzie Bus Line Ltd.

A list of the vehicles, schedules and rates are available by contacting the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, Public Passenger Division.

DRL Coachlines Ltd. is presently operating these services under temporary authorities effective Nov. 1, 1998.

Wednesday, Dec. 16, 9:30 a.m. Rodd Grand Hotel 417 Main St. Yarmouth
