Inductees to Agricultural Hall of Fame
Agriculture and Marketing Minister Ed Lorraine today announced that the late Howard Borden Fuller of Port Williams is the 1998 Nova Scotia inductee into the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Throughout his career, Mr. Fuller was committed to the interests and well-being of the agricultural industry. He served as president of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, director and executive member of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, president of the Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia and president of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association.
As a community leader, Mr. Fuller served on the corporate boards of such companies as Kings Mutual Insurance Company, Maritime Tel and Tel, and the Kings Memorial Hospital Corporation, and on a number of community-based committees, including the Grand Pre-Hortonville Heritage Committee.
Mr. Fuller was nominated for induction by the Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Turkey Producers' Marketing Board.
The Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame honours members of the agricultural community for outstanding contributions to the industry, community and farm organizations.
The 1998 inductees from other Atlantic provinces are the late Karl Harvey (New Brunswick), Leo Cormier (Newfoundland) and Donald Anderson (Prince Edward Island).
