COLCHESTER COUNTY: Mill Lane Motorists are advised that part of Mill Lane Road in Colchester County will be closed for installation of a concrete culvert and fish baffles. Delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until project completion, scheduled for Oct. 30.

HANTS COUNTY: Lacey Drive, Route 214, East Hants Industrial Park

Traffic will be reduced to one lane for gravelling, culverts, ditching and paving on the following three sections in Hants County: Section 1 - Lacey Drive - Milford and Tower View Drive - Lantz; Section 2 - Route 214 from Sobey's entrance to Elmsdale Elementary School; Section 3 - East Hants Industrial Park - First Street, Industrial Way and Commerce Court. Delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., until project completion, scheduled for Nov. 30.

HANTS COUNTY: Mantua Bridge

Motorists are advised that the Mantua Bridge in Hants County will be closed for repairs Monday to Friday, starting Oct. 26 until Nov. 13. Traffic is being detoured via Trunk 14, Lawrence Road.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Petite Riviere Bridge

Motorists are advised that the Petite Riviere Bridge will be closed for repairs to bridge deck, Oct. 26 to Nov. 4. Traffic is being detoured via Wentzell Road.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, eastbound and westbound lanes

Motorists are advised that Highway 104 in Pictou County will be reduced to one lane at Cowan Street for patching. Delays are expected from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 24 and 25.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, eastbound and westbound lanes

Motorists are advised that Highway 104 in Pictou County will be reduced to one lane at Saltsprings, exit 17, for asphalt placing. Delays are expected 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 26.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Route 337

Route 337 from the intersection of Cribbons Point Road southerly for about three kilometres is reduced to one lane for subgrade, pulverization, gravelling and paving. Delays are expected daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., until project completion Oct. 31.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Afton River Bridge

The Afton River Bridge on Summerside Road will be closed for pile replacement from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until completion Oct. 30. Motorists can detour via Summerside 486, Bayfield 411, Trunk 4, Summerside/Bayfield 518.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trunk 4, Havre Boucher Road, Old Wharf Road

The following roads are reduced to one lane until the end of October:

  • Trunk 4 from Frankville Road easterly for three kilometres, for repaving and concrete lining
  • Havre Boucher Road from Trunk 4 north to wharf, one kilometre, for repaving
  • Old Wharf Road from Havre Boucher Road to Cape Jack Road, 0.95 kilometre, for gravelling, paving and repaving

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 28

Trunk 28 from Emerald Street to River Ryan is reduced to one lane for ditching and pipe installation. Delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until Oct. 31.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trunk 4

Trunk 4 from Loch Lomond Road at Big Pond toward Middle Cape is reduced to one lane for clearing, grubbing and installing culverts. Delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until July 31, 1999.

CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Trans-Canada Highway 105

Motorists travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway 105 to and from the North Sydney-Port aux Basque ferry are advised that the speed limit has been temporarily reduced to 50 km/h from 80 km/h along a four-kilometre section. The department has installed a flashing caution light near the intersection of Highway 105 and Park Road. Motorists are asked to exercise caution while travelling along this route.


CAPE BRETON COUNTY: Point Aconi Road

Motorists are advised to expect delays on the Point Aconi Road at the end of a 1997 paving project in Cape Breton County. Ditching, pipework, pulverization and paving will cause delays daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until the end of October.

Various sections of Old Lingan Road, from the Sydney city line westerly to the railway tracks, are reduced to one lane for maintenance and paving. Delays are expected daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until Oct. 31.

Traffic delays are expected on Seaview Drive, from the North Sydney town line to the railway overpass in Cape Breton County, for ditching and repaving. Delays are expected daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until project completion, scheduled for the end of October.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102 northbound

Motorists are advised to expect delays on Highway 102 northbound on a seven-kilometre section from the Shubenacadie River to Stewiacke. The speed limit is reduced to 80 km/h from 110 km/h. Off-ramps are also be under repair. Alternating lane closures will be marked by barrels and cones. The work will continue to Oct. 31, Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Highway 102 southbound

Motorists are advised to expect delays due to road work on Highway 102 southbound on a seven-kilometre section, from 2.5 kilometres north of Brookfield to Shortt's Lake Road. The speed limit is reduced to 80 km/h from 110 km/h. Jersey barriers will be placed at the Brookfield overpass, limiting lane width to 4.8 metres (16 feet). Motorists are advised to expect delays on an 2.91-kilometre section of Trunk 2, Central Onslow, from Highway 102 westerly.
Alternating lane closure can be expected between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday, until Oct. 31.

Motorists are advised to expect delays on 2.3 kilometres of Mountain Lee Road from Route 311 to Brookside Road. Alternating lane closures can be expected between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday, until Oct. 31.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16

Motorists are advised to expect delays on a five-kilometre stretch of Trunk 16 from St. James Anglican Church at Peasbrook to Chedabucto Fire Hall at Queensport. Clearing and grubbing of right-of-way, ditching, widening of shoulders, shoreline protection, pulverization, gravelling and asphalt repaving reduce this section to one lane. Delay can be expected daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. until Nov. 30.

Motorists are advised that traffic on South River Lake Road at Roachvale is reduced to one lane for replacement of the Hortons Brook culvert. Traffic delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Nov. 30.

Traffic on 4.8-kilometre stretch of Portage Road is reduced to one lane. Delays are necessary for realignment and paving and are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 31.

Traffic on the MacLellan's Brook Bridge, Route 348, will face alternating lane closures until the end of October.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Route 3

Motorists are advised to expect delays on Route 3 at Lower Woods Harbour as traffic is reduced to one lane. Delays are expected daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until project completion, scheduled for the end of October.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Routes 3 and 330

One lane at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 330 may be closed to traffic during the construction of a concrete island and a right-turn lane. Motorists should expect delays daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 31.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Baddeck River Bridge

The Baddeck River Bridge at Nyanza has been reduced to one lane for maintenance, with a restricted width of 3.2 metres. Traffic will be delayed in this area until the end of October.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Crosby Court

Crosby Court in Hebron is reduced to one lane for asphalt paving. Motorists should expect delays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until Nov. 15.
