Tenders Called For Road Improvement

The Department of Transportation and Public Works has announced 7 tender calls for road improvement projects across Nova Scotia.

In Cumberland County, a tender has been called for cold planing and asphalt concrete repaving on Eastern Avenue, Parrsboro, from Main Street to Eastern Town Boundary, about 1.77 km.

In Hants County, a tender has been called for pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving on Shubenacadie Road, from Robertson Road to North Salem Road, about 2.3 km.

In Cape Breton County, a tender has been called for gravelling and asphalt concrete paving on Kilkenny Lake Road, from Old Lingan Road south, about 0.2 km.

In Colchester County, a tender has been called for gravelling and asphalt concrete paving on the following six sections:

  • Meadowvale Drive, from Salmon River Road southerly to end, about 0.125 km.

  • White Tail Court, from Old Greenfield Road southerly to end, about 0.27 km.

  • Nita Drive, from Brookside Road northerly and easterly to paving that was done in 1996, about 0.246 km and from Corey Dr. Easterly to the 1996 paving, about 0.08 km.

  • Corey Drive, from Nita Drive northerly to end, about 0.28 km.

  • Wade Road, from Lower Truro Road southerly, about 0.283 km. Branch Road, from Old Tatamagouche Road easterly to Rankin Drive, about 0.64 km.

In Lunenburg County, a tender has been called for pulverization, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving on Waterloo Road, from Bolivar Road westward, about 2.5 km.

In Yarmouth County, a tender has been called for asphalt concrete paving on Crosby Court, from intersection with Trunk 1 westerly to the cul-de-sac, about .20 km.

In Kings County, a tender has been called for painting and deck joints on the Brooklyn overpass.

The tenders for Yarmouth and Cape Breton counties close Sept.15. Those for Cumberland, Hants, Colchester, Kings and Lunenburg counties close on Sept. 18. The work on all projects is expected to be carried out by Nov. 15.
