Cease and Desist Order -- Stora Port Hawkesbury

The Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board today announced that it has taken action to end an illegal work stoppage which commenced Aug. 12, 1998, involving a number of maintenance employees of Stora Port Hawkesbury Ltd., Port Hawkesbury.

The complaint was filed with the board on Aug. 12, requesting the board issue a cease and desist order against certain employees.

An interim order has been issued by the board directing that these employees, who are members of the Communications Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada, local 972 and who are participating in the illegal work stoppage, cease and desist and return to work at their next regularly scheduled shift.
