Highway Tenders

The Department of Transportation and Public Works has announced highway projects for Colchester, Halifax, Lunenburg and Inverness counties.

They include:

Two sections in Colchester County. The first section is Trunk 4, from Valley Station Rd. easterly to Old East Mountain Rd., a distance of approximately 4.5 km.

The second section is on Mountain Lee Rd. from Route 311 to Brookside Road, approximately 2.3 km.

Work on both sections includes pulverization, cold planing, gravelling and asphalt concrete repaving.

The work in Halifax County is on Route 349 (Herring Cove Rd.), from Village Rd. to the end of the 1997 paving project, a distance of approximately 4.4 km. The work includes pulverization, gravelling and paving.

Work will be done on two sections in Lunenburg County and includes pulverizing, gravelling and paving. The first section is on Cornwall Rd. from the intersection of Newburne Rd. to MacKay Rd., a distance of 5 km. The other work is being done on Indian Point Rd. from Oakland Rd. to the end of the listing, a distance of 2 km.

Repaving is being done in Inverness County and includes various streets in the Village of Inverness. They are MacLean St., MacLeod St., River St., River St. Ext.,Quincy St., Hillcrest St., Forest St., Mill St., Mann St., MacKenzie St., Lower Railway St., Upper Railway St., Bonnie Brae St., Park St. The total distance is about 4 km.

The tenders for Colchester, Halifax and Lunenburg close July 9. The tender for Inverness County closes July 14.
