Paramedics, Air Ambulance to the Rescue in Hants County

Nova Scotia's air ambulance helicopter landed in a cow pasture in Hants County last night (Sunday, May 31) to help a man who was run over by a tractor.

The 62-year-old man from Walton is in fair condition today at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. He was working in a field in Tennycape when he fell off the tractor.

Paramedics from Windsor arrived on the scene and treated the victim until the STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) helicopter landed about 30 metres from the patient at 7:20 p.m.

A QEII trauma team was waiting for the injured man when he arrived at the Emergency Department at 8:15 p.m.
