Interim Head of Service

Martin Herschorn, QC, will serve as interim head of the Public Prosecution Service effective today, April 14, 1998.

Mr. Herschorn is currently the deputy director of the service and served as interim head from August 1994 until October 1995.

Details of the selection process for a permanent director of public prosecutions will be announced at a future date.

Mr. Herschorn takes over from Jerry Pitzul, who resigned the position last month to become Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Forces.
