Weight Restrictions Dates Revised

Transportation and Public Works (to Oct. 2007)

Favourable weather conditions in the western and central areas of Nova Scotia have prompted the minister of Transportation and Public Works to revise spring weight restriction periods as follows:

  • in Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby and Queens counties, spring weight restrictions will be lifted at 12:01 a.m. Monday, April 13, instead of April 25.

  • in Annapolis, Kings, Lunenburg, Halifax and Hants counties, spring weight restrictions will be lifted at 12:01 a.m. Monday, April 13, instead of April 29.

At this time, the restriction period is unchanged for the counties of Colchester, Cumberland, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton. The current restriction period for these counties ends at 12:01 a.m. May 3.

The minister of Transportation and Public Works has the right to revise zones, weight restrictions, and the list of roads exempted, as conditions warrant.
