Five Road Tenders Called
The Department of Transportation and Public Works today announced five tenders to upgrade about 25 kilometres of provincial highway at various locations in Nova Scotia.
Details of the tenders are:

paving of a 6.5-kilometre section of Highway 104 in Richmond County, from Exit 46 at Louisdale westerly;

pulverization, gravelling and paving of Route 333 in Halifax County from Upper Tantallon southerly to Indian Point Road, a distance of six kilometres;

paving of 7.7 kilometres of Highway 101, in Digby County, from French Road easterly to Bloomfield Cross Road;
-
repaving, gravelling and asphalt paving of two sections in Victoria County: 3.5 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway 105 from Humes River Bridge westerly, and 0.7 kilometres of the Humes River Road from the 105 in Wagmatcook westerly;

bridge repairs, consisting of concrete repairs, joint seal replacement and waterproofing, to the Baddeck River Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway 105 at Nyanza in Victoria County, and to the Indian Marsh Bridge on the 105 at Whycocomagh in Inverness County.
This series of upgrades, resurfacing projects and bridge repairs is part of Transportation and Public Works' commitment to Better Roads for Nova Scotia.
So far, 13 contracts to upgrade more than 80 kilometres of highway have been awarded for the 1998-99 road construction season.
